Darkness and shadow
Smoke and Fire
Your purification
Is my desire
Consuming fire
From ashes to dust
Necessary burning
Eradication a must
Burn out the weeds
The rot and the mold
Burn out the extras
The parts that I've sold
Your fire purifies
The heat it refines
The gold in my heart
The treasure that's mine
My field becomes barren
But only a season
For deep underneath
You have a sweet reason
To overcome weeds
To destroy all the rot
To open the seeds
Of the flowers I've got
To force them to bloom
For all men to see
To give them the room
Lord, come purify me
Take it all away
Burn it all down to dust
Take me, re-make me
However You must
Plant deep in my heart
What You want to see grow
Show me Your heart
Where You want me to go
Foster and prune me
With Your words and Your touch
Consume me, re-bloom me
I want this so much
Recover the barren
With the lilies You grow
With beauty, with honor
With compassion to know
How to help, how to love
How to be set apart
How to foster a love
Like the one in Your heart
How to bleed when they bleed
How to break when they break
And yet how to hold fast
No matter how things shake
To welcome the testing
To look for the gold
To be there with strength
Yet with arms that can hold
On my own I cannot
On my own I am weak
I must draw it out
From the words that You speak
So purify me
Give me all that You have
Come purify me
I want nothing by halves!

Unfinished
I know that this one is unfinished... I can feel it when I read, but so far He has not given me the end, so we'll just wait and see...
-Cry Out-
Cry out, cry out, for those in need
For those who need the Spirit's lead
Cry out for those who have no voice
For those who feel they have no choice
Cry out for those who cannot speak
For those who suffer and are weak
Cry out for those who do not know
Just where their heartfelt cries should go
Cry out for those who are so lost,
Those which life's storms have tossed
Cry out for those who are in pain
For those who need to see the rain
Cry out for those with no hope left
The tired, starving, and bereft
Cry out for those who have no love
For those who need a touch from above
Cry out for those who feel no need
For anything and are deceived
Cry out for those who long for a touch
From a father or mother who's missed so much
Cry out for those who have no vision
To see the needs of the world we live in
Cry out for the thirsty who have no water
For the mothers who have no sons or daughters....
-Cry Out-
Cry out, cry out, for those in need
For those who need the Spirit's lead

More poetry...
From last year - written for someone specific, but I think , on reflection, that it could comfort many...
-From Abba-
You are My daughter
My treasure, My prize
No other I've created
Could see through your eyes
I bless you, I keep you
Whether waking or sleep
I'll always protect you
My love, it runs deep
I cry when you cry
I hurt when you hurt
I've bottled your tears
They are of such great worth
I'm here for you always
Never leaving your side
I've never forgotten
My arms open wide
I Love you - you're precious
You're special, unique
I'm here for you always
Any day of the week
I'll wait and I'll listen
Until you cry out
My ear's ever-present
Of that have no doubt
My comfort is yours
You've only to ask
Every breath that you take
From the first to the last
I love you, My daughter
Rest in My peace
Feel safe in My arms
Let me bring you release
My daughter forever
So special to Me
One precious leaf
Of My family tree

A trend....?
I'm sure you'll notice soon that there is a trend to my poetry in form... don't ask why, I don't know! It just always comes out in this style, the rythym in my head rarely changes :)
-Untitled-
I see beauty in darkness
I find comfort in rain
Embraced through the fog
Joy can grow out of pain
Trade beauty for ashes
Turn cry into song
Your King has restored you
To where you belong
So sing in the darkness
And dance in the rain
Rejoice in the mists
He is coming to reign!

Mother
One of God's greatest gifts to me was the best Mother on the planet... this was written to her.
-Mother-
A mother He birthed
You were the loom
He knit me together
Inside of your womb
A lioness he arose
Capable and strong
Fiercely protective
Sheltering her young
An artist he gifted
With talent and grace
An ability to capture
The beauty of His place
A singer He blessed
With a voice sweet and true
To praise His great name
As you always do
A wisdom He gave
To a daughter so faithful
A mother for whom
I am forever grateful.

Poetic Bits and Pieces
One of my rare creative gifts is poetry.... rare because I can usually only write when I'm talking (or listening) to God, but whether they're my words or His, they always express a part of my inward soul that I could never put into conversation but only in verse.
I'll post a few of them here :)
-Our Lost-
A precious new life
Was snatched from us too soon
Dear Heavenly Father
We're looking to you
Unfathomable tragedy
The work of a thief
Yet you will restore joy
And comfort our grief
Turn our mourning to dancing
As we weep and we pray
You mend broken hearts
In your own tender way
As we mourn together
Crying out to above
We know they are with you
Enrobed in your love
What is meant for great harm
To separate us from you
Only draws us in closer
To our God who makes new
The loss of a precious child
Could never cause us to praise or clap
But we know their Heavenly Father
Has them snuggled up in His lap
Dear Heavenly Father
Though our hearts are in pain
We'll trust you with our treasure
Til we may hold them again
